LOTTE HOTEL JEJU

Unlike other oreums (volcanic cones) in Jeju, Seongsan Ilchulbong is a tuff cone, formed by an underwater eruption of magma. When the hot magma met the cold seawater, it caused the volcanic ash to retain a great deal of moisture, becoming stickier than normal and forming multiple layers that accumulated into Seongsan Ilchulbong.

Udo Island gets its name from its shape, said to resemble a cow, and has previously been called by other cow-related names, So-seom or Shwe-seom. Saryeoni Forest Path is considered one of the 31 Hidden Gems of Jeju. Starting from Bijarim-ro, the trail is surrounded by a dense forest of cedar trees, winding near Mulchat Oreum and Saryeoni Oreum. It is called Saryeoni Forest Path because it extends all the way to Saryeoni Oreum.

Seopjikoji is a promontory jutting off from Jeju’s eastern coast, offering a stunning view along the coast set against the gorgeous backdrop of Seongsan Ilchulbong. Seopjikoji offers a number of the quintessential elements of Jeju scenery, with the white sands of Sinyang Beach where the promontory meets the main coast, the canola fields stretching across its plains and hilltops, the Jeju ponies leisurely grazing, the beautiful rocky cliffs, and the towering Seondolbawi Rock, a feature appearing in Jeju legends.
